Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel)

Winterfrost recruits Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel) to participate in developing Website, Mobile App and Software projects for businesses. We look for candidates with a good backend background, systems thinking and the ability to handle practical technical problems to build stable, secure and high-performance products.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Independently develop modules and backend features for the Website/App/Software system.
• Design and build RESTful APIs, ensuring stability and scalability.
• Database design, query optimization and indexing strategy.
• Handle complex business logic, validation and exception handling.
• Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, electronic invoices, webhooks...
• Optimize system performance and improve load capacity.
• Write Unit Test, Integration Test and ensure source code quality.
• Participate in code review, support and orientation for Intern/Junior Developers.
• Coordinate with Frontend, Mobile and UI/UX to deploy features according to project requirements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Experience & expertise

• University graduate majoring in IT or related fields.
• Have 1–2 years of Backend development experience.
• Proficient in PHP 8.1+ and object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience working with Laravel Framework:
  • Routing, Middleware, Service Provider
  • Eloquent ORM, Query Builder
  • RESTful API Development

Database & Architecture

• Proficient in MySQL, optimizing complex queries, JOIN, subquery.
• Understanding of Design Patterns:
  • Facade
  • Repository Pattern
  • Service Provider
• Have knowledge about Authentication/Authorization:
  • JWT
  • Basic OAuth2
  • Session Authentication

Testing & Tools

• Experience in Unit Testing with PHPUnit or Pest.
• Know how to use Swagger/OpenAPI to document APIs.
• Proficient in Git workflow:
  • Rebase
  • Cherry-picked
  • Resolve conflicts
• Use basic Linux command line well.

Soft skills

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Have a problem-solving mindset and technical analysis ability.
• Proactively propose system improvements and optimizations.
• Have the spirit of sharing knowledge with Junior/Intern.
• Manage time well and meet project deadlines.

Priority

• Experienced in Docker, Docker Compose.
• Understanding of CI/CD:
  • Jenkins
  • GitHub Actions
  • GitLab CI
• Experience with Redis Queue, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Understand API versioning and backward compatibility.
• Have worked in Agile/Scrum model.
